While Globalstar CDMA digital satellite transmissions are inherently encrypted, wireless communications for both voice and data* can be protected further utilizing a Globalstar satellite phone in combination with the following security modules.
Models are compact, portable and easy to operate providing high-quality voice and data signals.
COPYTELE 1200 ENCRYPTION DEVICE
Now wireless communications for both voice and data can be protected with commercial grade encryption using a Globalstar satellite phone and the CopyTele DCS-1200 security module.
Today government, business and even personal communications demand a high level of privacy from unauthorized access and interception. A combination of the CopyTele DCS-1200, and the Globalstar satellite system meets this security need through flexibility, portability and ease of use in remote areas where no other wireless service is available.
In outdoor applications, voice conversations and data communications that require confidentiality and privacy can be sent and received with the Globalstar GSP-1600 mobile handset and the DCS-1200. Voice callers can use the single output cable from the DCS-1200 to the Globalstar handset and speak using a standard hands-free headset/microphone. For data transfers, the RS-232 port on the DCS-1200 connects directly to your computer or other data device. The security module can operate using either A/C power or an internal rechargable battery.
For indoor business or home usage, the Globalstar GSP-2900 fixed satellite terminal works with the DCS-1200 to provide high-grade, secure voice and data encryption protection for almost any telephone at the office or home.
A DCS-1200 unit is required at both ends of a phone or data connection to allow signals to be encrypted by the sender and decrypted by the recipient.
The DCS-1200 contains the communications technology of CopyTele, Inc. and utilizes either the Citadel CCXTM encryption algorithm developed by Harris Corporation or the Triple DES cryptographic algorithm. The GSP- 2900 is produced by QULACOMM with over the air encryption using CDMA technology
